Mission Statement and Polices and Procedures

  • Library Mission Statement: The Library Media Center (LMC) program and staff offer opportunities for students and faculty to become information literate. The LMC will collaborate in building partnerships for teaching and learning, and develop resources and activities that support teaching and learning.

 

  • Hours: The LMC is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Students who use the media center facilities after school may obtain late bus passes from the Library Media Specialist.

 

  • Book Loans:

2 week loan period.  Books are renewable as long as there are no holds on them.  Up to 7 books may be checked out to a student at one time.  Overdue notices are sent to the Advisory or English class. If there is no timely response, a notice will be sent home and/or a call home will be made.  Payment of the replacement value of any lost item is required. A full refund will be issued, if lost item is found and returned within 60 days.

 

  • Library Use:

Students may come to the library from a class or study hall

 

  • Sign-In Procedures from class or study hall:

*You may sign-in to the LMC for one or more of the following reasons:

1. Do research for a class assignment

2. Look for a book or magazine

3. Use the computer 

4. Work with a Library Media Specialist or teacher

  • Consequences for inappropriate behavior:

You must indicate your reason(s) for using the LMC on the library pass and LMC Sign-In Sheet. If you are not using your time as indicated, you will be escorted back to class and restricted from using the LMC for the following time period:

First offense: one week Second offense: two weeks Third offense: the remainder of the quarter or its equivalent
