Meet Chariho

Meet Chariho’s Expectations!

The Chariho Graduation Portfolio is designed to be a vehicle by which students prove they have met Chariho’s Expectations for Student Learning. These academic, civic, and social expectations have come about though our school community asking itself, “What is it we want a Chariho graduate to know and be able to do?” More than grades on a transcript, the Graduation Portfolio is tangible evidence of the high quality work you have produced as a Chariho student. With the help of an advisor, you will have regular guidance throughout your high school years to complete the portfolio, and you will have the support you need to make a great presentation of your portfolio during your senior year.

Specialize…and Show Off!

Many students use the portfolio to highlight a special area of interest in their lives. Your unique interests may be linked to several of the Chariho expectations, and you can use evidence from many of the expectations to show off your talents in the arts or in a specific career field. For instance, senior presenters in the class of 2008 used their portfolios to highlight service work in the community, passion for international travel, career plans to work in a NASCAR pit crew, and achievements in sports. Many Career and Tech students used the portfolio to show off their accomplishments and accreditations in their fields of specialty. Students with artistic interests found the portfolio to be a great vehicle to show off their work as well. In this respect, an individualized portfolio can add interest to your senior presentation, and it can help you sell yourself to colleges and employers!
