FACILITIES
The library and every classroom at Hope Valley Elementary School have access to email and the Internet. We can communicate internally from classroom to classroom, or from classroom or library to the world! We have five 6 computers in the Library Media Center, all of them networked for internet use. Classes use this "mini-lab" frequently for research and word processing, as well as other classroom enhancement activities. We use an on-line circulation and catalog system. The catalog can be accessed from any classroom or office..
These capabilities help the students and faculty of Hope Valley School become a community of life-long learners. We emphasize the development of information literacy skills in our students, and use the Big Six Information Skills Model when doing research. Each class is scheduled into the library once a week, with additional time scheduled for classes to come to the library to read, do research, and explore new uses of technology.
Contact bartonh [at] ride [dot] ri [dot] net (Mrs. Barton) for more information on our program or facility. The library media center serves as a source of information for everyone in the school. Be sure to visit the following informative, useful, and entertaining sites for parents, children, and teachers.
