Welcome from the Superintendent

Dear Chariho Families, We are so excited to welcome back our students and families for another incredible year in Chariho. We hope you had time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments together this summer.

Last year was filled with remarkable accomplishments and milestones. From students earning national recognition in SkillsUSA and showcasing excellence in the arts and athletics, to expanding opportunities in Career and Technical Education, we saw firsthand the talent, creativity, and determination of our learners. Our elementary schools were recognized for their outstanding work in literacy, mathematics and community engagement initiatives, a testament to the dedication of our youngest learners, their families, and our amazing elementary educators. And at the other end of the journey, Chariho High School remains ranked among the Top 10 of all Rhode Island high schools, a recognition of our students’ academic achievement, resilience, and the unwavering support of our staff and families. Our Annual Report captures many of these highlights [click here to view it] and I encourage you to take a look and celebrate the pride of Chariho.

As we move forward, we remain focused on ensuring that every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to creating an environment where every child is seen, heard, and valued. Our mission and vision continue to guide us: preparing students for lifelong learning and global citizenship, while being recognized as the community’s greatest asset through excellence, innovation, and care.

None of this is possible without the dedication of our educators, staff, administrators, and community partners who place students at the heart of every decision. Together, we will build on last year’s successes, embrace new opportunities, and make this new year, a year filled with growth, joy, and achievement.

Please know my door is always open. You can reach me by calling (401)364-7575 or emailing me at [email protected]. It continues to be my greatest honor to serve the students and families of Chariho.

With Gratitude, Gina M. Picard
