Dear CMS Families,

We hope that you had a relaxing and refreshing summer with your family and friends. All of us are eager to begin a new chapter at CMS, and it is our hope that you are too. It is our mission
to t each, target, and transform our school community , and we need to work together to keep it alive. Our School Improvement Team and PTO function to ensure that we provide and maintain
high expectations in the classroom, and also provide experiences that bring us together to celebrate CMS. We encourage you to participate in these groups to help us continue to make CMS a topnotch

We completed our second year of implementing our school wide positive behavior system, which highlights the following three Core Values: P ersistence, R esponsibility, and I ntegrity.
These Core Values are meant to shape and inspire students by providing common expectations for how we act as citizens in the school community and as citizens in the world around us. We
are looking forward to continuing our Students of the Month program. Last year we had 80 students of the month!

We are super excited to implement the district’s 1:1 initiative with all of our students. Students in grades 5-7 will receive a DELL Chromebook and the 8th graders will receive an Apple
Macbook Air. All CMS students will continue with their Google Apps for Education Accounts as part of our digital transformation. New fifth graders will receive accounts. You will learn much
more at the mandatory parent/student trainings. Please refer to the district’s 1:1 website on the Chariho homepage for more information.

We look forward to working with you to provide our students with the best possible educational experience here at CMS! Follow Chariho Instagram @chariho_middle_ri.
