Construction Technology

Construction Technology includes house construction as well as projects in cabinetry making. Projects are contracted to provide students with real world job experiences. Students learn framing, laminating, exterior and interior finishing, millwork, and an appreciation of job site safety.The students will receive training in the basis of the construction industry. They will learn machine and hand and tool safety as well as all facets in the building trade. Students will learn how to enter the work force, build a foundation, frame walls, roofs and install windows and doors. The students will also be introduced to Green Building basics. Students are trained and prepared to receive OSHA 10 certification.

Carpentry is the largest of the construction trades. The program is certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the curriculum has been developed and updated by the NCCER, assuring students of learning up-to-date skills.
