Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts students gain skills required to enter a large variety of food service careers. The students become proficient in many basic and advanced skills including cooking, baking and table service. A full service restaurant is operated by the students so they have the opportunity to learn in a realistic environment. Students also concentrate on menu planning,food safety, sanitation and management skills. The Chariho Culinary Arts Program was one of the first programs in the country to be certified by the American Culinary Federation. Colleges such as Johnson & Wales University, Culinary Institute of America, New England Culinary Institute and Bristol Community College offer advanced standing to Chariho Culinary Arts graduates.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to obtain industry certifications including ServSafe, TIPS, NOCTI, ProStart Level 1 & 2 and National Restaurant Association Certificate of Achievement, ACF Program completions as well as a Certified Junior Culinarian through the American Culinary Federation.
