Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation "Victim Relief" Scholarship

Due Date:
Friday, April 27, 2018

The Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation is a local non-profit organization established in the memory of Katie DeCubellis, a 13-year old Narragansett student killed by a drunk driver on October 29, 1999. The organization seeks to help others and to make our community a better place in which to live. Our Foundation has set out to educate people on the dangers of drunk driving and substance abuse.

Consistent with these goals, the foundation will provide a $1,000 scholarship to a Rhode Island resident pursuing an education in a technical program or in a 2- or 4-year college program who has been physically, emotionally, and/or financially affected by an incident involving a driver who was operating while impaired.

Each applicant should submit the enclosed Scholarship Application Form, an essay explaining how he/she has been physically, emotionally, and/or financially affected by an incident involving a driver who was operating while impaired, and a letter of recommendation from a sponsor (i.e. guidance counselor, coach, teacher, clergy, community leader, employer, etc.).

Applications are due to School Counselors' office by April 27, 2018 for processing and mailing.
