Business - Accounting/Finance

The Finance and Accounting Pathway is designed to prepare students for postsecondary education and careers in business and finance. Emphasis is placed on a college preparatory curriculum that is directly linked to the business world. Students learn business skills to prepare for the future, gain knowledge of money management, and practice real-life workplace applications. Students can choose to concentrate in either Finance or Accounting.

Students study and apply financial concepts that include:
• accounting
• financial planning
• management
• banking and credit
• economics
• money management
• technology
• investments
• insurance

Participation in internships will be required for each student. Advanced credits at CCRI for ACCT1010, EEP Finance 230, and potential AP credits as well as Certification in QuickBooks are included as part of this pathway.

In addition, students will have opportunities to develop leadership, social, civic, and career skills in marketing through their participation in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). FBLA provides well-planned activities that can be integrated into the curriculum and projects that promote occupational competence.
