Welcome to Chariho's District-wide Green Team page
The mission of the Chariho Regional School District’s Green Team is to promote a connection to the environment and share ways in which students, staff, and the community can be environmental stewards. The Green Team will also create outdoor classrooms, pollinator gardens, and green spaces and encourage students, staff, and the community to use these spaces now and in the future.
The Green Team is supporting the six (6) main elements the RI School as a Tool Protocol:
1. Establish a Green Team (completed)
- Draft an Environmental Vision Statement (completed)
- Meet on a regular basis (ongoing)
2. Conduct a School Environmental Survey across SY ‘23-’24 (completed)
3. Collect information on how Chariho integrates environmental literacy into the curriculum (completed)
4. Inform and involve the community (ongoing)
5. Apply to the Green Ribbon School program (completed)
6. Monitor and evaluate progress (ongoing)
